Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj did not appear at today's hearing at the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC), but is represented by his lawyer, Plarent Ndreca. This development comes at a time when a long-distance clash has begun between him and the government following Veliaj's transfer to Fier prison.
It is also reported that Veliaj has sent the court a letter, in which he has written all his positions regarding the developments of the last 24 hours and the meeting with Minister Gogu. Veliaj has asked the court to read the letter in the session for the purpose of transparency and its legal assessment.
A few moments ago, lawyer Plarent Ndreca appeared at the GJKKO, who, in a brief communication with journalists, stated: "Let's see how the process will go."
