The student protest in front of the Ministry of Education was accompanied by tensions, as the rally was joined by supporters of the Democratic Party, who had earlier marched from the Prime Minister's Office. Despite the presence of the Democrats, the students continued with their calls against both Prime Minister Edi Rama and the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha. "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison", "Down with the communists", "Down with the patronage" were some of the slogans heard during the rally.
An incident was also recorded among the protesters themselves. A citizen who chanted “Rama in prison, Berisha in prison” clashed with several DP supporters. During the protest, a young man who said he had also participated in the 2018 student protests and had returned from emigration, expressed his disappointment with the situation in the country. In another complaint, a citizen stated that his son, a student, had been raped by the police during the protest and had suffered a fractured nose. According to him, the young man had left the protest when he was confronted by the officers and was then taken to the Military Hospital, where his injuries were found. The student protests have been ongoing for several weeks, while the Democratic Party has announced support for their demand for the resignation of the prime minister.
