The United States Embassy in Tirana has announced that SPAK is involved in international efforts to combat organized crime and drug trafficking. In a post on social media, the embassy emphasizes that through the Office of Foreign Attorneys for Development, Assistance, and Training (OPDAT), the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice has supported SPAK's participation in the International Drug Enforcement Conference (IDEC40), held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. SPAK's Head, Klodian Braho, also participated in this event, who was involved in the international forum organized by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
“The Criminal Division of the United States Department of Justice, through OPDAT, brought SPAK to the center of global efforts against international organized crime. In Buenos Aires, the Director of SPAK participated in the United States Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA) International Drug Enforcement Conference #IDEC40 – the premier global forum sponsored by the United States for operational integration, coordination, and alignment of actions against international criminal organizations, including United States-designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations,” the embassy wrote. According to the embassy, SPAK prosecutors held 12 high-level meetings with counterparts from the United States, Colombia, Ecuador, Ukraine, Paraguay, and Argentina.
"Building on #IDEC40, SPAK prosecutors held 12 high-level meetings with counterparts from the United States, Colombia, Ecuador, Ukraine, Paraguay, and Argentina, strengthening the relationships and operational coordination necessary to strike and combat international threats in Europe, Latin America, and the United States," the response reads.
