For four days, the fire situation in the Ulëz Administrative Unit, in the Mat Municipality, has remained critical. The flames have engulfed hundreds of hectares of forests with pine trees, oaks and other vegetation, spreading to the areas of Lundre, Trodhene and Madheshi.
The fire is out of control and is advancing rapidly, while the thick smoke and flames make it impossible to intervene from the ground. During the previous evening, due to the flames, several families from Madheshi were evacuated. The fire has also endangered homes and livestock pens. Today, numerous forces have headed towards Madheshi to isolate the fire.
Mat Municipality employees, firefighters, the forest service and army forces are on the ground, and have been trying to contain the flames for four days. A helicopter has also been used to extinguish the fire, which has been working to extinguish the flames for three days.
