A serious incident of domestic violence, which occurred in 2022 in Manëz, Durrës, has been declared by the police following the arrest of a 38-year-old man accused of the death of his wife.
Fatjon Haxhiu has been placed in handcuffs after deportation from Greece, pursuant to a security measure "Arrest in prison", ordered by the Durrës Court on March 31, 2022.
According to the Police report, on March 18 of the same year, the 38-year-old is suspected of having physically abused his wife. Due to the injuries sustained, she died 10 days later.
Specialists for the Investigation of Crimes against the Person at the Durrës DVP have executed the security measure against Haxhiu, while the procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecution for further action.
His arrest comes more than four years after the serious incident for which he is accused. He has been charged with the criminal offense of "Murder due to family relations."
