Vučić's downfall, Serbia announces presidential elections on November 27

Serbia's acting president, Ana Brnabić, announced that presidential elections will be announced within the constitutional deadline, no later than November 27, or, if new institutions are formed, this will be done by the new acting president.

Brnabic called on the new majority, emerging from the October 25 elections in Serbia, to form a government as soon as possible.

Asked when she will convene the Assembly session, after the final results of the parliamentary elections are announced, she replied that this will be done "as soon as possible."

Journalists asked her who former Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić had pardoned, and Brnabić said that, according to the Constitution, pardons are not within the competence of the acting president and that she cannot speak on the matter.

Aleksandar Vučić, who resigned on the evening of September 27, a day later handed over the presidency to the Speaker of the Serbian Parliament, Ana Brnabić.

Vučić handed over to Brnabić the presidential seal, pardon documents, and other documents he had administered during his time as president.

Shortly before his resignation, Vučić decided to pardon and amnesty 49 people.

So far, their names have not been made public.
