SPAK has completed the investigations into Evis Berberi, the former head of the ARRSH, and has communicated the closure of the investigations on the accusation of violating equality in tenders in 9 cases.
Berberi is one of 26 defendants in the case related to former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku. SPAK has also completed investigations into former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku and 25 other defendants, including the former director of the ARRSH. The case is expected to go to trial in the Special Court (GJKKO).
Berberi has been charged with the criminal offense of violating the equality of tender participants, in connection with public procurement procedures conducted during the time he headed the ARRSH. The investigation includes several important infrastructure tenders, including the Llogara Tunnel and the lots of the Tirana Grand Ring Road. As part of the investigation, SPAK has also administered electronic communications between Balluk and her subordinates, which also include materials related to Berberi's phone.
