Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted on platform X after the Administrative Court's decision regarding the salary increase, accusing the court of acting hastily to request the execution of the decision without the approval of the Assembly.
Rama describes the decision as "extremely confusing," while raising questions about the way the case has been handled, comparing it to thousands of files that, according to him, have been waiting in the courts for years.
"If the Administrative Court had a standard for every citizen or institution in trouble, the hellish speed with which it acted today to open the doors of the treasury to increase its own salaries without the approval of parliament, I believe that every employed Albanian would be ready to forgive half their salary to the Administrative Court's flighty runners...", he said.
The Prime Minister considers it particularly problematic to take, according to him, a measure that aims to encourage the execution of an act that may be contrary to the law and the public interest.
"But to take the first security measure in the history of the world in the blink of an eye, not to stop but to encourage for personal interest the execution of an act that likely violates the law and the public interest, while thousands and thousands of files of problems have been waiting for years in the drawers of the court in question, this is something extremely disturbing!", writes Rama.
Rama also emphasized that, according to him, the decision to open State Treasury funds must go through the Parliament.
"The doors of the state treasury are opened only by the independent legislative power and the Albanian Parliament will do its duty on this subject, in compliance with the decision of the Constitutional Court, on Thursday, September 17," he further stated. The Prime Minister's reaction comes at a time when the decision on magistrates' salaries has caused clashes between institutions, while the issue is expected to take new developments in the Parliament.
