The next public hearing on the Administrative Territorial Reform in the Prrenjas municipality was accompanied by strong debates and clashes between residents and political representatives. The debate took on strong tones between socialist Ardit Facja and Socialist Party MP Olsi Komici. Facja expressed his opposition to the merger with Librazhd, while his position was supported with cheers from those present in the hall. “You are used to doing whatever you want, but forget it,” Facja is heard to have said, among other things, as he responded to Komici.
The meeting, held within the framework of consultations on the reorganization of local government units, turned into a direct confrontation between citizens and the Socialist Party MP, Olsi Komici. The residents of Prrenjas expressed their opposition to the proposal for merging with the Librazhd municipality, arguing that such a reorganization risks removing public services from citizens, increasing costs and weakening attention to peripheral areas. During the discussions, the citizens demanded answers and accountability from the MP Komici regarding his position on the Territorial Reform. Some of them accused him of not adequately representing the interests of the area's residents in Parliament.
The debate also raised concerns about how the 2014 reform has affected decentralization and the provision of public services. Residents argued that the merger of Prrenjas with Librazhd could create another administrative concentration, making it more difficult for citizens to access services.
