Prime Minister Edi Rama was greeted with protests this Saturday in Vlora, during his meeting with socialist structures and citizens at the Palace of Culture. While Rama was inside the hall, where he was discussing the Territorial Reform, several citizens gathered outside the building to protest.
Police escorted Baki Goxhaj, one of the organizers of the protest, and three other people who were near the Palace of Culture. Goxhaj is one of the activists involved in the 105-day anti-government protests in Tirana. He also became known after being detained by Israeli forces while participating in the “Sumud Flotilla,” which was launched with aid to Gaza.
According to reports, the protesters were waiting for Rama's meeting to end to continue the protest. After escorting Goxhaj, his wife objected to the police action and demanded clarification on his detention.
