Today, a "March for Freedom" will be held in "Skanderbeg" Square in Pristina in support of former KLA leaders, who will learn their fate from the Hague Tribunal on September 16.
The activity is organized by the civic platform "Freedom has a Name", which has announced that rallies and support activities will continue throughout the days in the municipalities of Kosovo, but also in the diaspora.
From a photo shared by the platform, posters with photos of Jakup Krasniqi, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli and Rexhep Selim are seen in the square, accompanied by the message "Kosovo is waiting" and the slogan "In the name of the people, declare them innocent."
Taulant Balla will also be present, who called on Albanians to support the march.
On September 15th and 16th, the "Night of Reception" is also expected to take place in The Hague, while 50 veterans have announced that they will travel there to support former KLA commanders.
Since November 2020, the 4 former KLA leaders have been in solitary confinement in The Hague, accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
In February of this year, they appeared before the Special Court for the third time to give their statements, while the process began in April 2023. In each of their statements, the fight for freedom, innocence, an independent Kosovo, massacres by the Serbian regime, and pride in the KLA were loudly shouted.
Defense attorneys pleaded their innocence and denied the accusations raised by the prosecution, describing them as unfounded or untrue.
