Prime Minister Edi Rama also spoke about former President Ilir Meta during the podcast "Flasim" opposite Rudina Xhunga.
Rama says that power is a monstrous beast and that Meta could not bear the weight of power and therefore became a ridiculous character.
As for the detention of the Freedom Party leader, the Prime Minister says that the long detention is unjustified.
"I feel sorry for Ilir Meta. He was a talent that couldn't hold its weight. Power is a monstrous beast, it's hard to hold it. It has eaten and brought many men under its wing. He couldn't hold the weight of power and ended up the way he did, he became a ridiculous character.
"As for pre-trial detention, it is no secret that I have very serious reservations about the practice of pre-trial detention. We are a country with a black record and no pre-trial detention, except for those of organized crime who do good, I do not see any long pre-trial detention justified," Rama said. /LAPSI.al
