The opposition demands an Investigative Commission for the KAYO company and

The Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party, the Parliamentary Group of the Freedom Party and the Parliamentary Group "Alliance for Change" have formalized their joint request for the establishment of an Investigative Commission to control the legality of the activity of the Company "KAYO" jsc, in terms of cooperation agreements, production, import, export and trade of weapons, ammunition and military equipment.

The Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party, the Parliamentary Group of the Freedom Party and the Parliamentary Group "Alliance for Change" have formalized their joint request for the establishment of an Investigative Commission to control the legality of the activity of the Company "KAYO" jsc, in terms of cooperation agreements, production, import, export and trade of weapons, ammunition and military equipment.

The Investigative Committee is proposed to have a 6-month term of office and to be composed of 15 deputies.

The opposition MPs have also defined the scope of the Investigative Committee's activities, which will be:

(i) Control of the legality of cooperation agreements concluded between the state-owned company “KAYO” jsc and third parties;

(ii) Verification of the process of selection, negotiation and approval of contractual relationships with other commercial entities;

(iii) Control of the legality of the activities of the parent company "KAYO" sh.a., and its subsidiaries, in terms of production, import, export and trade of weapons, ammunition and military equipment;

(iv) Verification of procedures for the allocation and use of funds from the State Budget;

(v) Verification of suspicions of the creation of an international arms trafficking scheme, according to the audio recordings made public;

(vi) Assessment of the fulfillment of obligations arising from the North Atlantic Treaty (NATO);

(vii) Identification of possible violations and irregularities in the administration of the company "KAYO" sh.a., subsidiaries and public funds, as well as the issuance of institutional responsibilities;

(viii) Assessing the need to take measures, including legal interventions through the adoption, correction or supplementation of relevant legislation to guarantee the principles of legality, integrity, accountability, competition and transparency in the activities of the parent company "KAYO" sh.a., and its subsidiaries, in accordance with the principle of the rule of law and parliamentary oversight.
