Rama said that there are two different projects, that in Sazan only 8% of the island's surface will be built, and that negotiations with investors are still ongoing.
"Sazani and Zvërnec are two different projects. Same investors, but two different projects. They are two different properties. Sazani is state property, Zvërnec is private property. The company was working in Zvërnec which, according to the law and based on the procedure of granting a prior permit, receives the right to place the fence.
Negotiations have started in Sazan. The island is 560 hectares and they are only discussing 8%, because we have set restrictions. The buildable area is 8%, so about 45 hectares. So, a property map is not a construction map.
I have never spoken to Trump about this project. In Zvërnec we have a different story, which is a story of several years. We are currently awaiting a project proposal, as we have rejected previous projects.
First of all, there is no way there will be a sale. Sazani has been under negotiations for years. We are negotiating with the other party on how to build cooperation with Sazani, we have set some limits, they have never asked to buy Sazani. There is no contract that we are talking about today, there are only negotiations. Sazani is not a treasure that has accounting, it is a territory that is very beautiful but also problematic. Sazani is a mined area, demining must be done there.
In Sazan there is no water, there is no electricity. This does not make Sazan an indisputable asset. I want to emphasize that both my predecessor and Fatos wanted to bring in investors, but it was not finalized. I have had access to Sazan on two other occasions, but they did not materialize.
They will make it an experience destination. There will be villas, but also the highest-level hotels in the world. Cheval Blanc is a company that doesn't come to Albania like that. Atlantis is the famous hotel in Dubai. It is the first Atlantis to enter Europe.
There will also be other things related to health, horse riding. We are working on an important health investment in Vlora. In Zvërnec we have another story, which is a story of several years and in fact today we are waiting for a project, after we rejected the first project.
"We are waiting for the project for Zvërnec to come, while we have not yet finished the negotiations for Sazan, because Zvërnec is private and Sazan is state land and will remain state land," Rama said. /LAPSI.al
