Rama talks about Ahmetaj: I invested in a carnival mask

In the podcast with Rudina Xhunga, Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke about his former deputy, now on the run, Arben Ahmetaj. Not hiding his disappointment, Rama did not spare his shots at him.

"In the case mentioned, I had invested in a carnival mask, not in a public asset to be trusted. If it later turns out that the human resource you invested in is contaminated, and the person you saw was a carnival mask, then it is painful, but it is a fact," Rama said of Ahmetaj without mentioning his name.

He admitted that SPAK had found violations in the case of incinerators, but denied that this had burdened the state budget.

"So far, I have not seen any evidence of abuse in the state budget proven in court; accusations yes, some very obvious elements of abuse for me and for us in the file brought by SPAK about the incinerators, yes, but I have not yet seen anything significant in the state budget."

"If I start from the accusations and use them as an argument to not appoint someone to office or to dismiss them directly, I would have to dismiss myself from morning to night, as much as they accuse me. And this has made me believe that others are also accused unfairly like me", - he said. ©LAPSI.al
