Egnatia has used the direct confrontation with Teuta to give a strong signal in the race for the championship title. The Rrogozhina team triumphed 1-0 at home, in the match that sealed the end of the first phase of the “Abissnet Superiore”, simultaneously changing the balance at the top of the classification.
The match between the two contenders did not produce many goals, but it was of particular importance for the progress of the championship. Beyond the three points won, Egnatia managed to inflict Teuta's first defeat of the season, ending the positive performance of Edlir Tetova's team in one of the most important matches of this phase.
With this success, the team from Rrogozhina climbs to 21 points, while Teuta remains with 20. The difference is minimal, but the message of this challenge is clear: the race for the top spot remains open and direct confrontations can make the difference in the fight for major objectives.
The first half was goalless, but with Egnatia more demanding.
The match started with pace and intensity, as both teams tried to find spaces to attack the opponent. However, it was Egnatia that showed more initiative in the attacking phase, exerting pressure and testing the goal defended by Bernandoni at several moments.
Nevil Dede's team sought to impose its game, while Teuta tried to maintain balance and not allow the opponent to take full control of the match. The clashes on the field, the fight for every ball and the importance of the result gave the challenge the character of a real duel between two rivals for the lead.
Despite their efforts, neither team managed to find the back of the net in the first 45 minutes. The goalless draw left everything open for the second half, where Egnatia would find the right moment to strike.
Sota's serious injury interrupts the game
The first minutes of the second half were accompanied by a worrying moment for the home team. In the 48th minute, defender Eljon Sota suffered a serious injury, forcing the intervention of the medical staff and his removal from the field on a stretcher.
Gruda ndryshon ritmin, Adjessa realizon golin e fitores
On the other hand, the loss for Edlir Tetova's team does not undo the positive performance so far, but serves as an important test for its continuity in the race for the top spot. The difference between the two teams remains only one point, which warns of a strong rivalry in the coming stages of the championship.
In the end, one goal was enough to change the standings and give Egnatia an important psychological advantage. The team from Rrogozhina ends the first phase as the team to beat, while Teuta will look for a reaction to regain the lead and continue the race for the championship title.
