Citizens have protested again this Saturday in Pristina, demanding justice for Arlinda Zekaj, who was killed last Sunday in Vitomirica, Peja. The march started from "Zahir Pajaziti" square, calling for more protection for women facing violence and more responsibility from institutions.
Among the protesters’ demands are social housing for survivors of domestic violence, an independent vetting in the justice system, and the legalization of self-defense spray for women. “Justice for Arlinda!” and “Justice for murdered women!” were some of the chants that accompanied the march. After stopping in front of the Government building, the protesters headed to the Kosovo Judicial Council, where they continued their demands for institutional accountability.
