The Port of Durres is facing a high influx of traffic, as the summer season draws to a close and vacationers begin returning to the places where they live and work.
According to data from the Durrës Port Authority, 38,985 people and 10,439 vehicles have left the port in the last 5 days. In the same period, 5,825 people and 1,989 vehicles have entered the country. The figures clearly reflect the direction of movements at this maritime border point, with the balance of exits significantly higher than entries.
Over the past weekend alone, nearly 20,000 people left Albania through the Port of Durres. These are mainly holidaymakers and visitors who, after spending days in Albania with their families or in the country's many tourist destinations, are returning to their home countries to resume their normal lives after the holidays. The flow of movement is expected to continue in the coming days, as the summer season enters its final phase and thousands of citizens begin returning to their homes.
