Tensions in front of the Prime Minister's Office/ Stones and flames thrown

"Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard was filled this Saturday with students and citizens, who marched in front of the Prime Minister's Office demanding the resignation of Edi Rama.

Two police cars sprayed large amounts of water at the crowd, while tear gas was spread along the boulevard. Some protesters moved towards Rinia Park, while others stood in front of the Prime Minister's Office, continuing to chant "Resign."

Tensions rose after some protesters threw rocks, flares and petrol bombs at officers. Police responded with water cannons, tear gas and pepper spray.

Tear gas was also reported to the Ministry of Interior, at a time when there were no direct clashes in that area. Some protesters were affected by pepper spray, while there were also verbal arguments and clashes with the police during attempts to disperse them. The protesters continue to remain in the boulevard area, while the main demand remains the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Six decisions signed by the AMA on October 30, for alleged violations of ethical standards and broadcasting statements that, according to the authority, incite hatred or justify violence. The fines have opened a debate on the limits of freedom of expression and the responsibility of television stations, while journalists see them as a form of pressure that risks encouraging self-censorship in studios and editorial offices.
