Protesters march in the streets of Tirana, officers throw water cannons at them

Protesters continued their march through the streets of Tirana, aiming to return to the “Martyrs of the Nation” boulevard. Tensions were recorded in the area near the former Exhibition Center, where police forces confronted the group of protesters and intervened with pressurized water and tear gas.

Police have been deployed to several areas of the capital, and have begun escorting several people following the tensions and incidents recorded.

During the protests in recent days, there have been reports of the use of rubber bullets and batons by the security forces, while several protesters have been injured. Despite the interventions, the crowd has continued the march, repeating calls for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
