Erjon Vishkulli has successfully undergone surgery at the "Gemelli" clinic in Rome, which has made it possible to save his eye.
The news was announced by the Ministry of Health, according to which the intervention was successfully performed by Professor Stanislao Rizzon.
The announcement also states that the Albanian government has approved financial support for Erjon, to help him on his further journey towards recovery.
The Ministry expresses its gratitude to Professor Rizzon, appreciating the professionalism, dedication and human sensitivity with which he performed the surgical intervention.
"Beyond knowledge and professional skill, it is precisely this human side, the joining of forces in humanity that makes these situations so special," the published message states.
The success of the operation is important news for Erjon and his family, however, as emphasized in the announcement, the journey towards restoring his sight will continue with patience and faith.
