The fire situation in Himara remains serious. It is reported that the flames have so far destroyed 2 homes while about 40 others are surrounded by fire. The flames are advancing rapidly due to the wind and the terrain.
Mayor Vangjel Tavo has called for immediate evacuation of homes in endangered areas.
The evacuation of residents and tourists staying in Himara hotels has begun a few moments ago.
