The Euronews Albania page on Instagram is no longer accessible, raising even more alarm over what has been happening in recent days with Albanian accounts on social networks.
Without any notice, without any measures, today the Euronews Albania website woke up with the notification 'user not found'.
Just last evening, Euronews Albania had MEP Sandro Gozi as a guest on the "Review" show, who spoke specifically about the closure of Albanian accounts on Instagram and demanded transparency from Meta.
Gozi raised the question: what is happening and why are these accounts being closed?
The MEP demanded that Meta provide a clear answer as to whether we are dealing with technical problems, violations of the platform's rules, or coordinated abuse of the reporting system.
Less than 24 hours after this interview, Euronews Albania itself no longer has its Instagram page accessible.
This fact does not prove a connection between the interview and the closure of the site, and, without an explanation from Meta, any such conclusion would be speculation. But the case makes even more relevant the question raised the night before in the Euronews Albania studio.
Dozens of cases of Albanian accounts being suspended on Instagram have been reported in recent days. Meta has acknowledged that some of the accounts were removed in error, has launched a review of the measures, and some profiles have been reinstated. However, the company has not yet provided a full explanation as to what caused this series of problems.
The issue now goes beyond a single profile.
When a global platform can suddenly cut off an individual, organization, or even a media outlet with an international logo from accessing its audience, without an immediate and understandable explanation, the main problem is transparency.
Meta must clarify what is happening with Albanian accounts, how the system that leads to their closure works, whether the reporting mechanism is being abused, and what guarantees exist to ensure that an account does not disappear by mistake.
Because today the question that Sandro Gozi raised last night on Euronews Albania is also addressed to the case of Euronews Albania itself:
