Cocaine among flowers from Colombia, Albanian arrested in Greece identified

The identity of the Albanian arrested in Greece, suspected of being the leader of a network that trafficked cocaine hidden in flower shipments from Colombia, has been revealed.

The suspect is 56-year-old Lulzim Caka, also known by the alias John Franko. He is wanted by Albanian authorities and, according to published data, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for several murders.

Caka is also known for escaping from prison in Albania in 2019. He has also previously had run-ins with Greek justice. In 2022, Greece rejected the Albanian authorities' request for his extradition.

The 56-year-old was arrested as part of an operation against a group suspected of international cocaine trafficking. The drugs were hidden in shipments of flowers imported from Colombia. Investigations are ongoing to determine Caka's role in the network, as well as his connections to other individuals involved in the trafficking.
