During Borussia Dortmund's Champions League match against Villarreal, there were tense moments when Konstantinos Karetsas requested medical attention. The Greek was in the middle of an attack when he suddenly stopped, clearly shaken by a sudden illness: the 18-year-old was carried off on a stretcher, while the entire stadium stood up to applaud him, and he was immediately taken to hospital, where he was diagnosed with "circulatory problems", as the German club confirmed.
Karetsas feels bad on the field
After just 23 minutes, Borussia Dortmund's new signing was stretchered off the pitch after suffering a concussion during his Champions League debut. Karetsas had been on the counterattack, but then passed the ball to a teammate and attracted the attention of the medical staff: he felt unwell while playing and was unable to continue. The German team's doctors immediately entered the pitch and the young player was stretchered off, while all the fans, worried, applauded.

Karetsas was immediately taken to hospital, along with his mother who was in the stadium to watch the match, and after initial examinations Dortmund confirmed that the player is fine, but that further tests will be needed to understand what happened to him during the match. The club speaks of circulatory problems, without giving further details, and new examinations will be carried out in the coming days. It is the second serious blow for the Germans, who have been unlucky with new signings: along with the Greek, his compatriot Konstantelias had arrived, who tore his cruciate ligament during his debut match in the Bundesliga.
