Students bloodied by police violence, Ervin Demo speaks as OSCE ambassador:

While the State Police today unleashed brutal violence against young men and women protesting in front of the Ministry of Education, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ervin Demo, becomes even more ridiculous with his reaction.

With language worthy of an OSCE ambassador, Demo calls for a reduction in tensions. The minister shows empathy for the injured police officers, but not for the bloodied students.

Read Ervin Demos' full and scandalous statement below.

Six State Police officers were injured while performing their duty to ensure order and security. I condemn without reservation the violence against them. Hitting a police officer is not an exercise of the right to protest.

I call on all participants to remain calm, violence is not justified.

I wish a speedy recovery to the injured officers. They and their families have my full support and solidarity.

The State Police will continue to fulfill its duty to guarantee order and security, respecting the right to peaceful protest and acting with professionalism, restraint and in accordance with the law.

At these moments, everyone's responsibility is to contribute to reducing tensions.
