Well-known politician in Kosovo is imprisoned

Kosovo Police have announced that Gani Geci has been detained for 48 hours, after being interviewed regarding suspicions of threatening journalist Lirim Mehmetaj. According to the 24-hour Police report, the case was registered on October 11 in Pristina, while the suspect's arrest was carried out on October 13, 2026.

After questioning, the competent prosecutor has decided to place Geci in police custody for 48 hours. The case is being handled by the justice authorities under suspicion of committing the criminal offense of intimidation.
