Earthquakes in the Kosovo national team. Amir Rrahmani has announced his departure from the national team after a decade of contribution, seven of which as captain and leader of the defense of the Dardanian team.
The defender's decision does not come quietly. On the contrary, Rrahmani has chosen to make public the reasons for his departure, addressing direct accusations against the leaders of the Kosovo Football Federation. In his reaction, the captain makes it clear that he will no longer wear the Kosovo jersey as long as the institution is led by the current people.
Rrahmani criticizes the way the Federation has been managed and claims that the team's ongoing problems have not been resolved due to a lack of competence from the leadership. But the strongest accusation relates to what the defender considers to be a continuous attack from within the institution.
"What did I get in return? Continuous and coordinated attacks for more than two years from those who should have been protecting us," Rrahmani writes. A statement that clearly shows the extent of the clash between the Kosovo captain and the Federation leaders.
Rrahmani emphasizes that the decision to leave was not taken lightly, but comes as a way to protect his integrity as a captain, as a professional footballer and, above all, as a person. After ten years with the Dardanelles jersey and seven years with the captain's armband on his arm, Amir Rrahmani thus ends one of the most important chapters of his career with Kosovo.
A decision that shocks the Dardanian representative and opens one of the strongest public clashes between one of the main figures of the National Team and the leaders of the FFK.
