The Democratic Party has reacted to reports that President Bajram Begaj has initiated consultations to resolve the political crisis in the country, following the violent protests that have engulfed Tirana in recent days.
Through a statement, the DP has opposed any attempt at a political agreement that does not include the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the creation of a caretaker government to prepare for new elections.
In the statement, the opposition harshly attacks President Begaj, describing him as a figure in the service of the prime minister and accusing him of involvement in affairs with military properties. These accusations are presented by the DP without supporting evidence in the statement.
"Various media reports inform that Edi Rama's puppet, Bajram Begaj, at the behest of his boss, has begun meetings and consultations to resolve the crisis, of which he himself is an aggravating element," the Democrats' reaction states.
According to the DP, the solution to the political crisis must begin with meeting the demands of students and high school students who have been protesting for days, as well as the demands of the opposition.
Specifically, the Democrats demand the immediate resignation of Edi Rama, the creation of a caretaker government with a mandate to organize elections according to international standards, as well as the lifting of the immunity and arrest of Belinda Balluku and any other politician for whom the justice authorities are seeking measures within the framework of corruption investigations.
The Democratic Party warns that it will not accept any political agreement that avoids these conditions.
"The Democratic Party declares that it will not recognize any type of negotiation or agreement that contradicts the above demands or that seeks to extend the life of Edi Rama, an unburied political corpse," the statement concludes.
Democratic Party Statement
Various media reports inform that Edi Rama's puppet, Bajram Begaj, on the orders of his boss, has begun meetings and consultations to resolve the crisis, of which he himself is an aggravating element. Begaj is a co-author with Padrino in large scandalous thefts of army property and for this co-theft he was rewarded with the position he holds and now seeks not to resolve, but to further deepen the crisis, despite its catastrophic consequences in the country.
Therefore, in these critical moments for the country, the Democratic Party declares that:
The solution to the serious crisis of the lack of legitimacy of the current criminal government has as a fundamental and non-negotiable condition the immediate fulfillment of the demands of the revolt of the students and high school students of Tirana, as well as of the Democratic Party of all of Albania:
1. The immediate resignation of Edi Rama.
The creation of a caretaker government with a mandate to prepare elections according to international standards.
2. The immediate lifting of the immunity and arrest of Lubi Balluku and any politician wanted by the justice authorities for the criminal offense of corruption!
3. The Democratic Party declares that it will not recognize any type of negotiation or agreement that conflicts with the above demands or that seeks to extend the life of Edi Rama, an undead political corpse.
