Nicolò Tresoldi was born in Cagliari in 2004. His father was a footballer, a defender who also played for Atalanta. When he was 13, he moved to Germany with his family, signed for Hannover and, when he turned 18, obtained German citizenship.
He spent three seasons at a very young age in the German second division, before moving to Brugge, a proper team with whom he played in the Champions League last season.
The statistics are important: he won the championship and the Super Cup, scored 23 goals during the season, and this season, with the hat-trick against Inter, he has already reached the quota of nine goals in total.
Tresoldi, Italy or Germany? Mancini and Klopp want him
The hat-trick against Inter gave him even more fame. Roberto Mancini had wanted to call him up for the Nations League matches. The answer was not positive, but not a flat refusal either. It was more of a response like: "We'll talk again later."
His father, in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, expressed himself diplomatically: "He has promised the coach of the German U-21 team that he will complete the cycle. He could break the goal record in that category, where he has scored 16 goals. After the European Championship, we will see."
Mancini has contacted him, but so has Klopp. The decision will be made by Tresoldi himself. The impression is that the choice between Italy and Germany remains very open.
