Sometimes, to make a dream come true, you really have to try everything, even a TV quiz. In 2000, Valdas Dambrauskas was a young Lithuanian with little financial means but a clear goal: to become a professional football coach. With no previous football experience and a limited budget, he decided to take a risk and participated in his country's "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" show, where he won the grand prize.
With that money in his pocket, he traveled to England with his wife to study at the best academies in London, gaining experience at clubs like Brentford, Fulham, and Manchester United, even starting in the ninth tier of English football.
From that moment began a long and fascinating journey through Lithuania, Latvia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Cyprus and Hungary, to great success in Azerbaijan, where in the first year he won a historic and triumphant “double”, the championship and the national cup. Then he managed to qualify for the Champions League, where this evening he recorded his first historic victory. A story of pure determination, or rather, a fairy tale.
