The meeting of the Municipal Council in Maliq, which was called out of turn to discuss the Territorial Reform, was abandoned by the left-wing councilors. The meeting lasted about 20 minutes, while the agenda included the approval of the official position of the Maliq Municipal Council, to be forwarded to the Albanian Parliament as part of the process of reviewing the administrative-territorial division.
According to sources, the meeting was announced to take place at around 10:00, but due to the statement of the group of left-wing councilors, where they said that they would not express their decision-making regarding the proposal that should be sent to Parliament, the chairman of the Council declared the meeting closed. This has caused reactions from the opposition councilors and citizens. As can be seen from the footage, the hall was emptied of left-wing councilors within a few seconds, while the rest of the opposition continues with the statements. An elderly man meanwhile entered the premises of the hall with a stick in his hand, opposing the closing of the meeting and debating with the chairman of the Municipal Council.
