The court has ordered "prison arrest" for 6 nightclub guards, who were arrested after raping the head of the Crimes Department of the Saranda Police Station, Mateo Bakalli. Marjo Katiraj, 35 years old; Elgent Ndoj, 38 years old; Faik Hoxha, 35 years old; Indrit Cullhaj, 34 years old, Ardit Kasemi, 31 years old (soldier in Zall-Herr), Besnik Sullollari, 29 years old, while 28 years old Pjetër Doçi was declared wanted.
The incident occurred at around 03:20 on August 16, outside the bar. According to the Police, the security guards were physically involved in a fight with several other people. The Chief of Crimes was driving by when he noticed the people fighting.
He intervened to stop the conflict by identifying himself as a police officer, but the security guards started punching him. The officer reacted in self-defense and managed to contact the police services to seek help.
The "Eagle" forces and the National Security Forces went to the scene, intervened to stop the clash and escorted the people involved. The police also located the rest of the guards in an apartment in the village of Gjashtë.
Also, the Director General of Police Skënder Hita suspended two police officers from duty, Inspector Armando Shehi, an officer of the "RESI" Department, and Deputy Commissioner Andon Binaku, an officer of RENEA.
According to the police, these two people, who were illegally employed at the bar, did not report the conflict that was taking place and, despite being off duty, should have intervened to prevent it from escalating.
