An important police operation codenamed "Fast" has led to the arrest of a person declared internationally wanted by Spanish justice. The specialized structures of FAST Albania, in cooperation with the Shkodra Local Police Directorate, have made it possible to locate and provisionally arrest in Malësia e Madhe the citizen Gentjan Handraj alias Gentjan Hotaj, 39 years old, born in Koplik.
His capture was carried out after detailed informational and operational coordination between the State Police and counterparts in Spain, with the aim of tracking down persons attempting to evade justice.
The 39-year-old was an internationally wanted person by Interpol Madrid. The Spanish judicial authorities, with a decision taken just a few days earlier, on July 8, 2026, had assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison".
According to the investigative file of the neighboring state, this citizen is accused of the following criminal offenses:
-Drug trafficking
-Participation in a criminal organization
His illegal activity, according to investigations conducted in Spain, was structured and had as its ultimate goal the trade and distribution of prohibited substances within the framework of an organized criminal group.
After his handcuffing and escorting, Interpol Tirana has immediately initiated official procedures. In close cooperation with the Spanish authorities, all necessary legal steps are being taken to enable the 39-year-old's swift extradition to Spain, where he will face the charges brought against him.

Following the information and operational coordination with counterparts in Spain, with the objective of locating and capturing citizens declared internationally wanted, specialists from the Search Sector (FAST Albania), in the Directorate of the Special Operational Force in the Criminal Police Department, in cooperation with the Shkodra DVP, finalized the police operation codenamed "Fast", as a result of which the citizen was located in Malësi e Madhe and provisionally arrested:
GH alias GH, 39 years old, born in Koplik.
This citizen was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Madrid, after the Spanish judicial authorities, by decision dated 08.07.2026, assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Trafficking in narcotics" and "Participation in a criminal organization", committed with the purpose of trafficking in narcotics.
Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Spanish authorities, is continuing the procedures for the extradition of the 39-year-old to Spain.
