The Port of Durres is facing a significant increase in the flow of immigrants and tourists, who have chosen ferries to travel to Albania during the summer season.
Around 5,000 passengers are expected to arrive today, along with around 1,300 vehicles. Most of them are coming from the Italian ports of Bari and Ancona, transporting luggage and vehicles to continue their vacations or visit family members in different parts of the country.
According to the data, four double-decker ferries will operate on the Bari-Durres line, while one ferry will arrive from Ancona. Three of the ferries will dock during the morning, while the other two are expected in the evening.
The flow of passengers is higher compared to June and almost at the same levels as July last year.
To cope with the high number of passengers, the port authorities have put 18 counters into operation for their processing, while a dedicated square and counter are available for trucks.
