Police statement/ The State Police repeats the calls made throughout today to the participants in the rally: Immediately distance yourself from violence!
Stop attacks on police officers and state institutions, as well as the destruction of public and private property by fire.
As a result of the attacks that have been going on for several hours, 14 State Police officers have been injured.
This violence must stop immediately! Attacks on police officers and the destruction of public and private property have nothing to do with exercising the right to protest.
Immediately and without hesitation distance yourself from the violent and masked individuals! Do not support or join them. Do not allow the gathering to be used to commit violence, attack police officers, and destroy public and private property. The endangerment of the lives of police officers and citizens must end immediately.
The right to protest is guaranteed by law, but it does not give anyone the right to use violence, attack police officers, or destroy public and private property. Those responsible for these acts will be identified and face the law.
Police services are continuing to identify and escort individuals who have committed acts of violence and who were masked during the rally. So far, 35 citizens have been escorted.
