Autopsy reveals new details about the murder of 25-year-old Albanian in Italy

The forensic report has revealed the cause of death of 25-year-old Albanian Kevin Muharremi, killed on February 14 in Montecalvoli, Italy. He lost his life after being hit by a bullet in the right side of the neck. According to the autopsy, the bullet was fired from a semi-automatic “Beretta” weapon, caliber 6.75. It severely damaged the spinal cord and the spinal cord in the C2 and C3 vertebrae, causing respiratory paralysis and internal bleeding. Muharremi was also hit by another bullet in the right arm, but this wound did not contribute to his death.

The main suspect in the murder is 20-year-old Albanian Renato Xyke. He has been in prison since the day of the incident. Xyke was arrested in Arezzo, while he was leaving with his family in a “Range Rover Evoque”, the vehicle from which the victim was allegedly shot. Kevin Muharremi was in the passenger seat of a “Fiat Doblò”, where he was found without signs of life. At least six bullet holes were found in the front of the vehicle. According to investigators, the murder was the culmination of a conflict that began a few hours earlier in a bar in Capanne, Montopoli. The clash continued in the parking lot and then over the phone, until the fatal meeting on the “della Repubblica” boulevard.

An 18-year-old Albanian, who was in the car with Xyken, is also under investigation. He is currently free and has given his version to the prosecution. Investigations are continuing to fully reconstruct the dynamics and motive of the incident.

Andi Bushati: What if Lali gets out of prison?

A pact has been drawn up between the prime minister and the imprisoned mayor to return the latter to office. But what would be the consequence for a justice reform, that the high-ranking officials have kicked down the doors of his cells?

A decisive moment for Albania

It is the first time that Albanians feel they can shape the national debate without waiting for political parties to take the lead. Experience teaches us that democracy depends not only on elections, but also on active citizenship among them.
