The constitutional deadline for the constitution of the Kosovo Assembly ends today, and it has not yet been announced when the constitutive session, which was interrupted the day before, will resume. The session was interrupted at the request of the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, who requested additional time for consultations with representatives of political parties, with the aim of reaching an agreement regarding the issue of the president.
Kurti's request was opposed by deputies from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), who reacted to the decision to suspend the proceedings. However, the chairman of the session, Avni Dehari, a deputy from the Vetëvendosje Movement, decided to suspend the session. Before the suspension, the first two items on the agenda were completed: the formation of the Commission for the Verification of Mandates and the swearing in of the deputies of the 11th legislature.
After the verification of mandates, all elected deputies took the oath, including the deputies of the Serbian List. It remains to be seen whether the session will be continued during the day and whether the political forces will reach an agreement on concluding the process of constituting the Kosovo Assembly.
