Residents and employees of the Klos Municipality have come out in protest against the new draft of territorial division, which foresees the merger of the Klos Municipality with the Burrel Municipality. They say that this decision will harm the development of the area and warn that they will not participate in the elections. An employee of the local administration also emphasized that Klos is a developing area, especially after the construction of the Arbrit Road, while the closure of the municipality would bring serious consequences.
"I am against the division of municipalities. It is better if they take us with Tirana. We will not participate in the elections at all if they unite us with Burreli. We have no use for Burreli," said a resident of Klos.
"The employees and citizens of Klos are very right. Klos is a developing area, especially with the opening of the Arbri road. With the closure of the municipality, other institutions will also fall, such as education, and the place will be depopulated. Maybe for those who have thought it better, but we have no hope of living here. Especially the young people"
Another protester described the merger of the municipality as a great loss for the community.
"We are against the Klos municipality merging with Burrel, because this municipality took a breath and now it is leaving, for me it is a great loss. Someone must speak up to keep the Klos municipality. We will continue the protests"
"We are against the merger with the municipality of Burrel. I have been working here since 1992. I am satisfied with the achievements of the municipality of Klos, therefore I call on the local MP to lead them in front of the community of Klos and raise their voice in Parliament to oppose this decision they have made," said an employee of the municipality of Klos.
"We are in support of the Klos community, as a resident and employee of this administration, I categorically express my position against the merger of the Klos municipality with that of Burrel. The Klos municipality should be more independent because it meets the components to be a separate municipality," said another employee of the Klos municipality.
