Durrës Municipality firefighters have brought the fire that broke out in a warehouse in the Shkozet area under control after more than 3 hours.
5 fire engines, 4 fire trucks, 1 ladder truck and 24 employees of the Fire Protection and Rescue Service (FPS) were deployed in the operation. The forces and vehicles of the Port of Durres, as well as the FPS Shijak Station, were also deployed in support of the operation.
Work is currently underway to completely extinguish the remaining fires and secure the perimeter.
During the operation, two firefighters, Nadir Kapaj and Maliq Gjyli, were transported to the Durres Regional Hospital due to asphyxiation due to smoke and fire, where they are receiving the necessary medical assistance. Their condition appears to be stable.
There is currently no risk of further spread of the flames. Authorities report that the causes of the fire will be known after the completion of the investigation by the responsible authorities. /LAPSI.al
