Albania needs 20 to 30 thousand foreign workers, while Vietnam is expected to be one of the main countries from which this workforce will be provided. The news is announced by the Vietnamese newspaper Lao Dong, which reports on the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of the two countries for the sending of Vietnamese workers to Albania.
According to Lao Dong, the agreement was signed on July 29 in Hanoi by the Vietnamese Ministry of Interior and the Albanian Ministry of Economy and Innovation. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, the Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Interior, Vu Chien Thang, as well as the Vietnamese ambassador to Greece, also accredited to Albania.
Vietnamese media writes that Albania's demand for labor is particularly related to the sectors of tourism, hospitality, restaurants, industrial production, construction, high-tech agriculture, transportation and other professions that require qualified employees with knowledge of foreign languages.
According to Vietnamese authorities, the memorandum creates the official framework for cooperation between the two countries in the field of employment and aims to expand the labor market for Vietnamese citizens.
Lao Dong emphasizes that Vietnamese workers who will work in Albania will be treated according to Albanian legislation, benefiting from equal wages, working conditions and rights with other employees.
Another element that the newspaper highlights is that Vietnamese workers will not pay any expenses before leaving their country, as all recruitment and transfer costs will be covered by Albanian employers.
According to Vietnamese media, the Albanian side has also expressed its willingness to cooperate on the professional training of workers before their arrival in Albania, so that they can meet the demands of the local labor market.
After signing the memorandum, the institutions of both countries will draft a plan to implement the agreement, coordinating the process of selecting, training and employing Vietnamese workers in Albania, reports Lao Dong.
