VIEWS/ Earthquake shakes Naples, strongest in 40 years

A 4.7 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 7:46 p.m. today in an area near Naples.

The epicenter of the earthquake is located in the area of ​​the Phlegraean supervolcano and the focal depth is estimated at 4 kilometers. According to Italian media, the earthquake was the strongest in the last 40 years.

Electricity was cut off in many neighborhoods of Naples and many people took to the streets. So far, no injuries have been reported. 

Material damage was recorded, with a wall collapsing along the railway line and part of a hill in the Pozzuoli area. /LAPSI.al
