European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, has announced that Montenegro has already closed more than half of the negotiation chapters.
In a post on the "X" platform, Kos writes that this Tuesday Montenegro has closed the chapters on Competition Policy and Customs Union, bringing the total to 18 out of 33 negotiation chapters.
The Commissioner writes that reforms under these two chapters mean operating under the same rules as in the rest of the EU, with less administrative burden and fewer border controls, creating more opportunities for both Montenegrin and European businesses.
She emphasizes that it is time for Montenegro to double down on reforms and finalize the integration process.
