Ex-boyfriend admits guilt: I pushed Aurora off the balcony

There was a turning point in the appeal trial for the murder of Albanian Aurora Tila, the 13-year-old who died on October 25, 2024, after falling from the balcony of her home in Piacenza, Italy. During the hearing before the Bologna Court of Appeal, the girl's ex-boyfriend confessed to killing her, changing his previous version of events.

According to Italian media reports, the 17-year-old, already sentenced to 17 years in prison in the first instance, apologized for his actions and for waiting so long before admitting his guilt.

During the hearing, the boy stated that he was the one who pushed Aurora off the balcony 2 years ago, but the motive is still unclear. During the investigation and the first-instance trial, he denied all charges.

The confession represents an important turning point in the appeal proceedings, although the sentence handed down by the Bologna Juvenile Court remains under review by second-instance judges.

The hearing ended with the proceedings being adjourned until September 10, when the appeal process will begin again.

During the trial, evidence emerged regarding episodes of stalking that Aurora allegedly suffered before her death, including messages sent to her family and conversations on ChatGPT, which the prosecution believed were indicative of the climate of fear the girl experienced. /LAPSI.al
