The Ministry of Health has ordered the launch of an in-depth administrative investigation regarding the treatment of the case of the 52-year-old patient with the initials AA, from the city of Durrës. According to the official announcement, the investigation will fully examine not only the procedures and measures taken by the hospital structures, but also the actions and responsibilities of the social service structures involved in this case. As part of the process, the leaders of the Health Care Services Operator and the State Social Service are on the ground to conduct direct verifications and supervise the administrative investigation of the structures in the city of Durrës.
The patient, a heroin user, methadone user and HIV carrier, had spent almost two months in hospitals and had only 20 days earlier undergone surgery at the University Hospital Center. After returning to Durres and being discharged from the hospital, his condition deteriorated, necessitating another surgical intervention at the Durres Regional Hospital. He is currently in intensive care under the care of the medical team. According to doctors, his condition is stable after the last intervention and if the progress continues positively, he is expected to be transferred to the ward.
The Ministry announces that the patient is currently under the care of health structures at the Durrës Regional Hospital, while all health and administrative documentation is being verified, as well as the responsibility of the persons involved in his management and transportation. At the end of the announcement, the MSHMS emphasizes that it remains committed to guaranteeing full transparency, clarifying all the circumstances of the case and taking any administrative or legal measures that may be necessary.
