The national protest on the 35th day in front of the Prime Minister's Office was also accompanied by a symbolic moment. On the occasion of Prime Minister Edi Rama's birthday, the protesters brought a cake. On it was written the message: "The people congratulate you! Resign, take Saliu with you."
The message reflects the spirit of the protests in recent weeks. What began as a reaction against the Zvërnec project has transformed into a broader movement against the political class, with protesters demanding the removal not only of Prime Minister Edi Rama, but also the end of what they see as the political establishment.
In today's protest, where a high participation of citizens and the diaspora was recorded, the dominant chants were "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison", "Revolution", "New Albania", "Resignation" and "Free the boys", in support of the protesters arrested after clashes with the police during Thursday's rally in front of the Parliament. /LAPSI.al
