Artist Robert Aliaj Dragot has shared a message on his Facebook page calling for everyone to come out en masse in protest.
"Where are you, the patriots of the stadiums and the concerts, you with tattoos of Greater Albania, who scream hysterically? But when the homeland burns, why do you cower like mice? When you are not able to protect your child, you do not deserve it. You, the disposable patriot, who castrated you?" - writes Dragot.
"True patriotism is not the song of Xhamadani that explodes from the windows of luxury cars with income from prostitution and drugs. It is not the insincere songs about Albanians, who you have exterminated to eat or embalm. Neither drugs, nor criminality, nor corruption. Noooooo, it is not patriotism.
True patriotism costs something, gentlemen. It costs more than freedom. So get moving, do something for once in your life. Protest!
True patriotism means loyalty, being sworn to something greater than oneself. A true patriot is one who loves life, is free in space, does not bargain, does not steal his country, does not steal his vote, nor does he sell it.
