
The Ministry of Justice is forwarding the documentation for the extradition of businessman Ermal Beqiraj to the French authorities. The news is confirmed by sources at the Special Prosecution Office, where according to information SPAK has asked the ministry to send the extradition request to the French law enforcement agencies. Attached to the extradition request is the decision of the Special Court for the assignment of the security measure "prison arrest" against him, as a person suspected of having committed 7 criminal offenses.
Ermal Beqiraj was arrested a few days ago in France, after being caught flying a private plane over a power plant. A few days ago, SPAK announced that it had requested the seizure of several assets of businessman Beqiraj with criminal origins located in France, particularly bank accounts with a total value of over two million euros, two apartments, a castle in the Oise department worth around 2.6 million euros, motor vehicles, etc. Ermal Beqiraj is wanted by SPAK in connection with abuses with ANA tenders. Against him, SPAK has filed the criminal offenses of "Unlawful competition through violence", "Unlawful deprivation of freedom", "Violation of equality of participants in tenders or public auctions" committed in the special form of cooperation of the structured criminal group and "Structured criminal group", "Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group", as well as "Laundering of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity" and "Active corruption of persons exercising public functions".
