The 65th protest was held in front of the Prime Minister's Office today. Citizens have started the next march on the boulevard, continuing their daily action of resistance.
As on previous nights, protesters will march on several axes of the capital, holding banners in their hands and continuing with calls against Prime Minister Edi Rama and the government.
During the march, calls for the resignation of the prime minister are heard, while the protesters demand political change and responsibility for the problems that, according to them, the country is facing. The citizens, gathered for 65 days in protest, declare that they will continue to take to the streets and squares of Tirana until their demands are met.
What began as a reaction to developments in Zvërnec has morphed into a broader civic movement, with daily protests against the government and what organizers describe as the “political caste.” For more than two months, the rallies have been accompanied by marches on the capital’s main streets and with ongoing calls for political change.
An activist has announced the massive participation of the Diaspora on August 14, 15 and 16. He stressed that the movement will continue without interruption until the resignation of the head of government, adding that the only way to avoid this is for him to leave before August 14.
During the next protest against Prime Minister Edi Rama, he stated that the arrival of the Diaspora will give a new impetus to the protests, forcing the Prime Minister to leave before the beginning of September.
The activist reiterated that the civic resistance will not stop until its main political goal is achieved.
"This protest will continue until Edi Rama resigns. The Diaspora will come en masse on August 14, 15 and 16. The only way for this not to happen is for Edi Rama to resign by August 14. But even if it doesn't happen, it is certain that after the Diaspora comes, he will leave and will not wait for September 1", he said. /LAPSI.al
