A yacht suspected of firing into the air has been stopped after an operation by Border Police, Delta Force and the FNSH, and is currently being escorted to Porto Palermo. The incident occurred on Sunday evening, after holidaymakers in the area reported gunfire in the air, allegedly coming from the direction of a yacht.
After the shooting, two people on the yacht's dinghy attempted to flee toward shore. However, upon noticing the police presence, they turned back toward the yacht. The yacht then left the area, turning off its lights in an attempt to avoid identification and pursuit by authorities.
There were four people on board, who were escorted by police for questioning in connection with the incident. During the search of the yacht, sources indicate that no firearms were found.
The Border Police, together with Delta Force and the FNSH, have been put in pursuit of the vessel. The operation lasted about two hours, until the moment when the yacht was stopped. After the stop, the vessel was escorted to Porto Palermo, where checks and verifications were made regarding the incident and the use of the firearm.
